Vega Squadron disband their League of Legends roster 15.08.2017 Author // sirVatum

Vega Squadron announces the disband of the current League of Legends roster. As a remnder, in LCL summer split “sharks” failed to qualify for play-offs for the first time in the history of the tournament and finished 5th in the brackets.

As a reminder, there were 3 players that have been playing for our team since very creation: Alexandr “NoNholy” Ovchinnikov, Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov and Evgeniy “Drobovik123” Belousov. Coach, Alexander “Sharkz” Taranda has been with the team on 3 out of 4 splits. Vega Squadron will be taking part in LCL-2018 Spring Split with a completely new roster.

Vega Squadron CEO, Alexey Kondakov:

- First and foremost, I’d like to thank players, coaches and analysts that have been in our team for the past 2 years. Special thanks goes to players that have been with from the start, thank them for the dedication, contribution to the development of our team and of course emotions given to us and all the fans in “VTB Arena”, on LCL Open Cup, IEM and Rift Rivals. They became a family to Vega Squadron and it’s hard to imagine our new League of Legends team without them present.

Nevertheless, we had set serious aims before the current split and failed to achieve them. Maybe this time we just didn’t have enough time, but it’s the moment when Vega Squadron requires a complete rebuild. We will arrange a roster from scratch and it’s still possible that some of the old players will appear in the team once again, but we can’t keep this roster when there’s 5 more months before any serious games will be played, it makes no sense. It also will be useful for players, they will be able to try themselves in other organizations or even leagues, and I’d like to wish them luck if they go for it.
