Vega accepts defeat from Alliance on The Summit 7 11.05.2017 Author // Ace

In groupstage finals of The Summit 7 EU qualifiers Vega Squadron faced Alliance.

First map picks:
Vega: Lycan (Alohadance), QoP (G), Legion Commander (Afterlife), Tusk (CeMa), Crystal Maiden (Silent)
Alliance: Troll Warlord (Loda), Outworld Devourer (Limmp), Clockwerk (jonassomfan), Ogre Magi (Handsken), Dazzle (EGM)

On map 1 Vega went for Lycan that beat "sharks" on DreamLeague in Liquid's hands. The pick was working out. Lycan's lane weakness wasn't a problem thanks to his supports that were making ganks one after another. Swedish midlaner was really underfarmed. Vega were ahead in midgame and the only one to be at the top of net worth charts was Loda, but he became the moving force of the team.

At some point "sharks" lost 2 heroes trying to handle just Troll, in teamfights he was killing several heroes even when losing teammates. In the decisive moment Loda singlehandedly won all the fights and secured Alliance a 1:0 lead.

Second map picks:
Vega: Lifestealer (Alohadance), Templar Assassin (G), Batrider (Afterlife), Kunkka (CeMa), Crystal Maiden (Silent)
Alliance: Slark (Loda), Ursa (Limmp), Enigma (jonassomfan), Clockwerk (Handsken), Skywrath Mage (EGM)

On map 2 everything went not as Vega planned. Unexpected supports in face of Skywrath and Clockwerk let Alliance make 4 unanswered kills. Aloha, however, was farming great thanks to jungle Enigma on enemy side and became the playmaker. Later in the game TA outfarmed the carry and joined the moving force.

G was feeling very comfortable especially under Kunkka's support. "Sharks" could siege enemy highground without any risk of losing the TA. Then Vega won a couple important fights and made the scores back even.

Third map picks:
Vega: Morphling (Alohadance), QoP (G), Legion Commander (Afterlife), Tusk (CeMa), Crystal Maiden (Silent)
Alliance: Weaver (Loda), Shadow Fiend (Limmp), Clockwerk (jonassomfan), Winter Wyvern (Handsken), Earthshaker (EGM)

In the decisive match Vega looked weak on lanes, this time G was the focus of the Swedish stack. He lost a matchup against Shadow Fiend on his QoP and had a lot of trouble coming back into the game. This time everything was fine for Legion Commander and Morphling, so "sharks" used these heroes to transition into midgame.

However, some mistakes were made and "squadron" lost Roshan and then a couple lanes. After being given a 7k gold lead, Alliance didn't let the game go.
